The Orwigsburg Area Free Public Library’s Run for the Books is scheduled for Sept. 21, rain or shine starting at Albright’s Woods, 300 Grove St.
Check-in and same-day registration opens at 8 a.m.. The 5K run/walk begins at 9:45. The 1-mile fun run for ages 10 and under starts at 9.
The 5K course is mainly on blacktop along with some grass. A map is available at www.orwigsburglibrary.org.
There will be free refreshments, indoor restrooms and ample parking. Participants who register by Aug. 31 get a T-shirt.
The entry fee for the 5K is $25 by Aug. 31 and $30 thereafter. Fun run registration is $15 before Aug. 31 and $20 after. Register at the library or at www.pretzelcitysports.com. Race-day registration available for all events.
There will be awards for overall and age-bracket 5K winners. All fun run finishers will receive ribbons. The first two male and female fun run finishers will get awards.
Proceeds from the event benefit the library.
