A runaway cow spotted three days apart on the Kutztown University campus, spurring emergency notifications to be on the lookout for an “aggressive cow” is no longer on the loose.
The bovine’s several-day period of freedom ended this morning with its captured on nearby Crystal Cave Road, university officials announced.
The animal escaped from a farm in northeastern Berks County and was last sighted on the KU campus early Wednesday. It was reported the cow was spotted on the remote northwest edge of the campus before it went through a tree line to neighboring fields.
The Kutztown campus is busy this time of year. A large number of children are attending summer camp there, officials said.
The animal’s owner had told KU officials that the bull was aggressive and should not be approached.
The cow was first spotted running down Main Street in Kutztown on Sunday evening before making its way to the university’s North Campus.
