Scholarships, June 30, 2024

The following students received $1,000 schoarships from Lauren’s Foundation, a Wyomissing based nonprofit:

Kylianna Bruno and Ayisha Nimaga, Conrad Weiser High School; Charlotte Rismiller, Exeter; Erin Day, Oley Valley; Kimberly Heck, Schuylkill Valley; and Kylee Evans, Bryce Heilmann, Luke Herbein and Avonlea Lechleitner, Wilson.

Bruno plans to study sociology at Millersville University. Nimaga is to major in nursing at DeSales University. Rismiller is going to attend Dickinson College. Erin Day is going to Marywood University to major in nutrition and dietetics. Heck plans to study culinary arts at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Evans is planning to study early education at Penn State Berks. Heilmann plans to study film and media in college. Herbein is to study architecture at Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology. Lechleitner plans to attend Elizabethtown College and major in biotechnology.

Lauren’s Foundation scholarships are awarded to high school seniors who have overcome significant adversity and who will be attending an accredited university, college or trade school.

Lauren’s Foundation is a nonprofit organization created by the family of Lauren Fitzgerald, a Berks County resident who died in 2005 of complications related to a brain tumor. More information at www.laurensfoundation.org.

Victor Emmanuel

Joseph Mancuso and Sara DeLoretta won $12,000 scholarships from the Victor Emmanuel Beneficial Society Lodge and Ladies Auxiliary, Reading. DeLoretta is a graduate of Gov. Mifflin High School. Mancuso graduated from a charter school in Wilmington, Del.
