Schuylkill County authority mourns employee’s death

The Schuylkill County Municipal Authority announced that employee Jeremy Smith died in an accident while working on a job site.

“It is with extreme sadness and grief that we announce the tragic loss of SCMA employee Jeremy Smith. Our entire company mourns Jeremy’s passing,” Executive Director Patrick M. Caulfield said.

Smith was a 17-year employee with SCMA’s Meter Department.

Authority officers were closed April 28 in mourning.

The authority referred questions regarding the incident to the Pottsville Police Department.
