Severe thunderstorm warning issued until 7:45 p.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for southern Berks County until 7:45 p.m.

The warning also covers areas in portions of Chester and Delaware County as well as northern Delaware and southern New Jersey. Among the communities that could be affected are Honey Brook, Elverson and New Morgan, according to forecasters at the weather service’s bureau in Mount Holly, N.J..

At about 7 p.m. severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Conowingo to Barksdale, moving north at 45 mph. There could be 60 mph gusts causing damage to roofs, siding, trees and power lines. The affected area includes sections of the Pennsylvania Turnpike and Interstate 95.
