South Schuylkill Garden Club gives out award, prepares for Borough Day

Members of the South Schuylkill Garden Club are planning their participation in Schuylkill Haven Borough Day to be held Sept. 30. The group is noted for the james and jellies that it sells, and it will also have dried fall floral arrangements for sale at the event.

Each year the South Schuylkill Garden Club looks for landscaped yards worthy of the Helen Moyer Curb Appeal -Spirit of Beauty Award. The club recognizes Schuylkill County individuals, businesses, and municipalities whose landscape efforts enhance the appearance of their communities. This year’s special recipients were Dana and Greg Gluntz of Pine Grove. The award, which includes a certificate and a lawn sign, was presented by Jane Kruse and Carol Haldeman. The winning property is located along Sweet Arrow Lake Road.
