The following information comes from police reports and court records.
Crash: On Feb. 1 at about 6:15 p.m. state police responded to a one-vehicle accident in North Manheim Township. Megan Toomey, 40, Schuylkill Haven, hit a deer on Cressona Road near SPCA Road. Toomey was not injured, her vehicle was towed.
Crash: On Jan. 31 at about 7:30 p.m., state police responded to an accident on Route 61 at Route 443 in North Manheim Township. Kylie Marier, 28, Frackville, did not stop at a red light and struck a vehicle driven by Deborah Chitwood, 65, Orwigsburg. Chitwood suffered a minor injury. Both vehicles were towed.
Theft: State police are investigating the theft of nine catalytic converters valued at over $1,800 from EZ Rent to Own, Route 61 in North Manheim Township. The theft occurred in the late hours of Jan. 26. Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators at 570-754-4600.
Crash: State police were dispatched to Route 61 near Holly Road in Deer Lake on Jan. 24 at about 10:15 p.m. for a one-vehicle accident. A minivan went over an embankment and became disabled. The driver, Victor Koury, 51, Hamburg, was found and charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance. There was damage to the grassy area and the property owner was contacted.
Criminal Mischief: At about 2 a.m. on Jan. 19, wires were cut out of the power box to a residence on S. Tulpehocken Street in Pine Grove. Power was lost to the residence and the exposed wires struck a 2017 Chevrolet, causing damage. State police charged Mark Rose, 46, Pine Grove with criminal mischief.
Theft: On Jan. 17 at about 11 a.m., state police were dispatched to High Street in Schuylkill Haven. A GMC truck parked near the residence was reported stolen by a friend from Mahanoy Plane. A stolen license plate was displayed on and recovered from the stolen vehicle.
