South Schuylkill News Police Reports, March 28, 2024

The following information comes from police reports and court records.

Crash: State police responded to an accident on Running Deer Drive near Teepee Drive in South Manheim Township on March 16 at about 1:40 a.m. Lawrence Pauley was driving a four-wheeler too fast for conditions and and hit another car head-on. Pauley was flown to Reading Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the car and a passenger were transported to Geisinger Saint Luke’s for their injuries.

Crash: State police at responded to an accident on Geary Wolfe Road in Pine Grove Township on March 16 at about 8:30 a.m. Corrine Kelly, 33, Pine Grove, rear-ended a vehicle driven by Eric Rowan, 47, New Philadelphia. There were no injuries. Kelly’s car was towed.

DUI: On March 15 at about 3 a.m., state police conducted a traffic stop on Sunbury Street in Minersville. Police found the driver, Abbie Conway, 35, Pottsville, to be under the influence of a controlled substance and took her into custody.

Crash: On March 12 at about 7:15 p.m., state police at Schuylkill Haven responded to an accident in Wayne Township. John Martyniuk, 67, Auburn, was traveling in the parking lot of Rhino Lining at 1968 Fair Road and hit a concrete retaining wall with his 2020 Jeep Gladiator. Martyniuk left the scene without notifying the nearest authorized police department. He was later identified and cited.

Crash: On March 10 at about 12:45 a.m., State police responded to an accident on Good Spring Road in Hegins Township. Benjamin Maurer, 18, Hegins, lost control of his car and hit an embankment. Maurer was not injured.

Crash: State police responded to an accident in South Manheim Township on March 8 at about 4:30 a.m. Justin Mosolino, 36, Pottsville, lost control of his car, which flipped. Mosolino was not injured.

Crash: On March 8 at about 1:25 a.m., state police responded to an accident in West Brunswick Township. Darrin Harrison Jr., 34, Port Carbon, side-swiped a vehicle driven by Roberta Mazack, 64, Shenandoah. Harrison’s then hit a fence and struck the Deer Lake Pub and Restaurant. There were no injuries. Both vehicles were towed.

Crash: State police at Schuylkill Haven responded to an accident on Route 183 S. in Wayne Township. Robert Klipola, 50, Schuylkill Haven, passed another vehicle in a no-passing zone, then swerved to avoid a head-on collision with oncoming  traffic. The vehicle hit berms, becoming airborne and landing back on the highway, blocking the southbound lane. Klipola was not injured. The car had disabling damage.

Crash: On March 4 at about 1:45 p.m., state police  responded to an accident on 2 Fearnot Road in Hubley Township. Glenn Zimmerman, 66, Womelsdorf, lost control of his truck, striking a stone wall and a utility pole. The truck came to a stop in a parking lot. Zimmerman was not injured. The truck was towed.
