from Berks Alliance
Berks Alliance will host a webinar entitled “Hope for the Homeless: Hope Rescue Mission and the Lighthouse” via Zoom, on Thursday, Nov. 21, from noon to 1 p.m.
According to the U. S. Census Bureau 2023 Point-in-Time Survey, over 12,500 Pennsylvanians were homeless on a given day. For 130 years, Hope Rescue Mission has been a place of refuge for the homeless in Berks County. The shelter provides meals, shelter, and important support services to those in need every day of the year. It provides a pathway to a more stable lifestyle, helping to transform the lives of the people that it serves.
They offer four residential programs for homeless men, helping them to return to a productive independent lifestyle. Last year, they added a shelter for homeless women and children. The Lighthouse Women and Children’s Center offers 43 residential rooms for single women and women with children, offering them a safe place to get their back on their feet after becoming homeless.
Join us to learn more about homelessness in our region, and the important work that Hope Rescue Mission and the Lighthouse are doing.
