The legendary Rob Stoneback Big Band and vocalist/saxophonist Erich Cawalla are teaming up for the first time ever to help you “Swing” Into the Holidays! This special event will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 18, at the historic Roxy Theatre, 2004 Main St., Northampton.
Founded in 1979 and based in the Lehigh Valley, the Rob Stoneback Big Band is definitely a big band for the 21st century with 19 members. If you want all the excitement and romance of the Swing Era and more, this is the band for you. The 17 instrumentalists and two vocalists define “class” with their renditions of the great standards and current hits. Rob and the band have performed with some of music’s biggest stars, including Johnny Mathis, Natalie Cole, Aretha Franklin, The Temptations, The Four Tops, Lou Rawls, Manhattan Transfer … the list goes on and on. Reading, PA native Erich Cawalla is a nationally charting singer, saxophonist, recording artist, and educator. Erich’s unique talents merge “Old Vegas with Contemporary R&B” in tribute to some of his biggest idols, including Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin, Smokey Robinson, Frankie Valli, and Junior Walker, to name a few. He is the leader and founder of his group, “The Uptown Band,” which was formed in 2006, and he has performed as a featured act at over 2,000 shows since their inception. In 2022, Erich released his debut solo album called “The Great American Songbook,” which received rave reviews and radio airplay throughout the world. General admission tickets are $20.00 a piece ($12.00 Students) if purchased ahead of time or $25.00 at the door. Doors open at 6:15 p.m., with the show starting at 7 p.m.
