The Reading Symphony Orchestra (RSO) is thrilled to announce a breathtaking collaboration with the Joffrey Studio Company, the prestigious pre-professional division of Chicago’s world-renowned Joffrey Ballet. This extraordinary event, “Let’s Dance!”, will take place on Saturday, April 26, starting at 7:30 p.m., at the Santander Performing Arts Center.
Under the baton of Maestro Andrew Constantine, the evening will blend the power of live orchestral music with the elegance of ballet, bringing a refreshed and contemporary energy to beloved classical pieces.
Grieg’s evocative music to Peer Gynt opens this very special evening, followed by Napoli, a delightful story of the young lovers, Teresina and Gennaro, created for Copenhagen’s Royal Ballet. Then virtuoso cellist Mark Kosower joins the Joffrey party for their interpretation of Tchaikovsky’s Rococo Variations and also performs the composer’s Pezzo Capriccioso.
“Enchantment is very much in the recipe for the RSO’s exciting collaboration with dancers from the Joffrey Studio Company, part of the legendary Joffrey Ballet from Chicago,” shared Andrew Constantine. “Partnerships like this are important to the RSO, and we’re pleased to present artistic collaborations such as this.”
This highly anticipated performance offers an immersive experience where two celebrated art forms unite in perfect harmony, delivering an evening of artistry, passion, and unforgettable moments.
