The Camel Project will present its first Family Science Night at the GoggleWorks Center for the Arts.
Participants will work in family groups to create a spin-art science project that they can take home after the event.
The free event, titled Get Kids & Parents Excited About All Things STEM, will take place at 5:30 p.m., Oct. 26 as part of the Camel Project’s observance of National Bullying Awareness and Prevention Month.
Observed through October, National Bullying Awareness Month, is used to encourage action at the local level to create safe and supportive organizations.
The Camel Project works to assist individuals and organizations in changing the culture of bullying and unacceptable behaviors that result in violence, trauma, and abuse.
“Our mission is to eliminate bullying behaviors, and one of our methods is to build stronger relationships within the family,” said Pamela S. Gockley, founder and executive director of the Camel Project. “How better than to create a spin-art machine as a family?”
The activities will be guided by Science Explorers, a hands-on science education company dedicated to providing opportunities for children ages 4 through 11 to engage in science.
The event is free to families.
Registration is required.
