Billed as a “be in the room event,” the TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce recently hosted its annual dinner — and nearly 250 guests. The theme for the April 24 event, held at RiverCrest Golf Club and Preserve in Upper Providence Township, Montgomery County was “The Games We Play in Work and Life.”
Keynote speaker for the event was Steve McClatchy, author, trainer, consultant and president of Alleer Coaching & Training. McClatchy, who lives in Chester County, is the author of “Decide: Work Smarter, Reduce Your Stress and Lead by Example.”
He shared how interactions in a relationship fit into five categories, toward building trust. He shared with attendees what he called the “5 Levels of Maturity,” and how “you look to yourself to mature” to improve relationships.
“If both parties consistently demonstrate maturity at a given level, then you can proceed to the next level,” McClatchy told attendees.
He also shared stories of growing up in a household with eleven siblings, along with tales of business interactions. He had the crowd laughing and playing games as he offered advice on how to build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships in work and life, the chamber said in a press release.
The chamber also presented its annual awards to three individuals:
• The 2024 Chamber Champion Award was presented to George Yanoshik Jr. of Patient First.
• The 2024 Volunteer of the Year Award was presented to Megan La Rosa of Tompkins Community Bank.
• The 2024 Ambassador of the Year Award was presented to Joseph Rusiewicz of the Foundation for Pottstown Education.
Eileen Dautrich, chamber president, was recognized during the event for her 25 years of service to the chamber. She was presented with an award, and received a standing ovation from those in attendance.
The event began with networking and a social hour followed by the awards, keynote speaker, and dinner, ending with a dessert buffet. Sticking to the theme of “games we play,” there were several prizes, including a drawing for two airline tickets to anywhere in the U.S., donated by World Travel.
“We’ve heard great comments about the evening and have been following the positive experiences our attendees have been sharing through social media,” Dautrich said in a statement. “This is a true testament on how well the event was received and we thank our sponsors and our members for their support.”
The TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce is a membership organization serving businesses in southeastern Berks, western Montgomery, and northern Chester counties, as well as the Route 422 corridor.
