Tulpehocken and Camp Hill to face off in District 3 Class 1A boys soccer title game rematch

One year after Tulpehocken defeated Camp Hill in the district title game, the two sides find themselves in the same position.

Except this time, the two teams will meet at Hersheypark Stadium.

After last year’s championship game was played at Camp Hill due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the third-seeded Trojans will play the top-seeded Lions in the District 3 Class 1A boys soccer title game rematch on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

“I’m excited for them this year because they get to experience Hershey,” Tulpehocken coach Trevor Brown said. “Games like this are meant to be played on a big stage.”

The Trojans are the defending champions, and will be playing in their 16th title match in school history. They have won 10 district crowns.

Tulpehocken (16-4-2) beat No. 6 seed Fairfield 4-0 in the quarterfinals. The Trojans beat second-seeded High Point 1-0 in the semifinals.

Tulpehocken has allowed just nine goals in 22 games this season. Led by their defense, the Trojans have not allowed more than two goals in any contest.

“We don’t have 15 shutouts for no reason,” Brown said. “We’re pretty darn good on defense.”

On the other side, Camp Hill (17-3) defeated ninth-seeded Halifax 3-0 in the quarterfinals. The Lions beat fourth-seeded West Shore Christian 3-1 in the semifinals.

“It’s going to be a fantastic game,” Brown said. “I think this is going to be one of the best games of the tournament, in any classification.”
