Twin Valley beats Conrad Weiser with field goal in double overtime

Twin Valley defeated visiting Conrad Weiser 37-34 with a game-winning field goal in the second overtime by Matt Puccino Friday night in a Berks Football League Section 2 game.

Both teams were led by strong quarterback play, with Conrad Weiser’s Logan Klitsch keeping plays alive with his legs, and scoring on the game’s opening possession. His 10-yard touchdown run ended a 13-play drive that lasted nearly six minutes.

But the Raiders responded with a quarterback touchdown run of their own, as Evan Myers ran in from 8-yards out.
Twin Valley (2-0, 4-1) took its first lead of the night on its next possession when Nicholas Harris capped a 10-play drive with a 6-yard touchdown run.

Conrad Weiser (1-1, 3-2) tied the game in the second quarter on Klitsch’s first touchdown pass — a 15-yard completion to Nate Fizz. It was Fizz’s only catch of the night.

Twin Valley reached the end zone one last time before the half on a screen pass from Myers to Trey Freeman. Freeman led Twin Valley in catches and receiving yards, finishing with five catches for 112 yards and a touchdown. He also had a 63-yard kickoff return.

Klitsch threw his first interception of the night on Conrad Weiser’s last chance before the half.

Klitsch bounced back early in the second half with a game-tying 1-yard touchdown run. He ran the ball six times on the 12-play drive.
But after a 63-yard kickoff return by Freeman, Evan Johnson scored on a 32-yard run on Twin Valley’s first play of the possession. Puccino then missed the extra point.

Conrad Weiser tied it with 2:31 left on a 17-yard touchdown pass from Klitsch to Anjay Feliciano. Feliciano finished with five catches for 72 yards and a touchdown. Twin Valley blocked the extra point, keeping the game tied at 27-27.

Klitsch did it all for the Scouts, completing 14-of-24 passes for 166 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran for 81 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries. Klitsch also threw two interceptions.

Puccino had a chance to win the game for the Raiders on a 42-yard field goal with one second left, but the kick was wide right.

Twin Valley scored in one play in its first overtime possession. Johnson reached the end zone on a 10-yard run. Johnson ended the game with five carries for 59 yards and two touchdowns.

The Scouts answered with a 2-yard touchdown run by Cameron Jones.
