Twin Valley boys tennis falls in District 3 Class 3A team quarterfinals

Twin Valley lost 3-1 to Cumberland Valley in the quarterfinals of the District 3 Class 3A boys tennis team tournament Thursday at Hershey Racquet Club.

The Berks champion and fourth-seeded Raiders (13-1) got their only win at No. 3 singles from Charles Beebe, who beat Ryan Thomas 6-1, 7-6 (4).

The fifth-seeded Eagles (14-2) got their wins at No. 1 singles and in both doubles matches.

At No. 1 singles, William Ong beat Jackson Bonds 3-6, 6-2, 6-4. At No. 1 doubles, Bhavpreet Singh and Sami Kazi beat Austin Rutherford and Luke Bailey 6-0, 6-2. At No. 2, Nikhil Khattar and Ayush Trupathi defeated Carson Kane and Brendan Gallagher 2-6, 6-4, 6-2.

At No. 2 singles, Cumberland Valley’s Ross Kluger led Dylan Bonds 6-3, 3-5 when the match was clinched.

Also Thursday, the site and time of Conrad Weiser’s semifinal match in Class 2A was announced. The sixth-seeded Scouts (13-3) will face seventh-seeded Pequea Valley (13-3) Tuesday at Hershey Racquet Club at 3:30.

Weiser beat third-seeded Trinity 3-1 and Pequea Valley defeated second-seeded Wyomissing 3-2 in Wednesday’s quarterfinals.

The Braves beat the Scouts in the district semifinals and the PIAA final in Class 2A in 2019.
