Twin Valley High School named seniors Connor Holloran and Brooke Trent as the September and October Intern Students of the Month, respectively.
Connor currently interns at Knox Equipment Rentals where he performs a variety of tasks, including routine small engine maintenance and oil changes. His mentor and Sales Manager, Brian Besselman, is proud of Connor for his strong work ethic.
Brian reports, “Connor is always punctual and reliable. He offers good intermediate skills and has a great willingness to learn. Connor works well with his team and also provides good customer service when appropriate. We are very pleased with his work ethic and responsibility and we’re excited to have him as a part of our team!”
Connor attended Technical College High School and plans to become an equipment tech/operator for Caterpillar.
Brooke currently interns at the Geigertown Fire Company where she is involved with the planning, organization and remodel of the fire company office.
Brooke completed 180 hours of essentials training to become an interior certified firefighter. She will participate in a live burn training — a mock house fire — where she can put her skills and knowledge to the test.
She is also becoming proficient with exterior firefighter operations. She helps mentor junior firefighters and is a great role model as she encourages more females to become involved in serving their communities.
Mentor, Jared Horbach, shares, “Brooke is the first female firefighter to complete the essentials training. Brooke maintains a positive attitude and works extremely hard to learn new skills that will benefit her community. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication, Brooke!”
Last year, Brooke interned at Stoltzfus Enterprises where she gained a behind-the-scenes look into the daily business operations. Brooke is extremely dependable and conscientious and enjoyed helping with a variety of tasks.
Brooke stays busy as she works part time as a server at The Heritage Restaurant, plays on Twin Valley’s field hockey team and is the editor of Twin Valley’s High School Yearbook.
