United Way of Berks County is celebrating its Blueprint For Leadership (BFL) and Leadership Berks graduates at its graduation ceremony on Tuesday, June 10, starting at 11:30 a.m., at the DoubleTree Hotel.
Blueprint For Leadership is a unique professional development program designed as a seven-week training opportunity for individuals representing our community’s under-represented communities as they develop skills to serve in a leadership role with an area nonprofit. This year, 15 participants employed by varied local companies participated in a series of sessions focused on leadership and communication skills, roles and responsibilities of nonprofit board/committee members, and nonprofit board governance. The 2024-25 program is graduating 15 individuals.
Leadership Berks trains individuals to serve in nonprofit leadership roles within Berks County. The experiential program expands the candidate’s professional and community leadership skills, and it is highly valued by Berks County employers, recognizing the increased skills and experiences gained by graduates. The curriculum is delivered over a seven-month period and taught by business and community leaders, along with content expert instructors. The 2024-25 program is graduating 36 individuals.
“Leadership United provides transformative opportunities through developmental and experiential experiences,” said Tammy White, President of United Way of Berks County. “By preparing talented individuals for leadership, we are securing a strong, thriving future for our community.”
Nearly 200 guests are expected, including graduates and their program mentors, along with sponsoring company leadership, members of the advisory committee, and others. A list of program graduates follows.
