from Adalyn Rose Foundation
Five-year-old Violet Chapin, the reigning Miss Pennsylvania Princess, is set to represent Reading, PA, at the prestigious National American Miss (NAM) Nationals in Orlando, Florida, this Thanksgiving season. This remarkable achievement not only showcases Violet’s dedication and talent but also serves as a heartfelt tribute to her brother, Oliver, who tragically passed away in 2021 at the age of almost five.
In honor of Oliver, Violet is collecting books and beads for the Adalyn Rose Foundation’s remembrance carts, which provide comfort to families facing similar tragedies. “This initiative means a lot to our family,” said Shirley Chapin, Violet’s mother. “It’s a way for Violet to keep Oliver’s spirit alive while also helping families like ours.”
To make the collection successful, the Chapin family has set up an Amazon wishlist, making it easy for friends, family, and community members to contribute. “I love helping people,” Violet shared. “It makes me happy to know I can make a difference for families like mine, so they can feel loved and remembered.”
Violet’s participation in the NAM Nationals is an exciting milestone. The event, running from Friday, Nov. 22, to Sunday, Dec. 1, will feature various competitions, including interviews with individual judges, personal introductions, and community service presentations, where Violet plans to share her mission to honor her brother.
The Chapin family hopes that through this endeavor, they can inspire others to find strength in adversity and share their faith throughout hardships all the while giving back to the community.
