The Berks County sheriff’s department is seeking the following fugitives:
• Alexander Cortes, 39, whose last known address was in the 1000 block of Alexander Drive, Muhlenberg Township, is wanted on aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and firearms not to be carried without a license charges.
Police stated that on Aug. 5, Cortes pulled out a firearm during a fight in the 700 block of North 13th Street in Reading. One of the victims attempted to fight him over the firearm when one shot was fired into the trunk of a vehicle. Cortes fled the scene on foot. While the victims were at the scene with police, Cortes left them messages telling them not to provide investigators with his information.
He is described as 5 feet 10 inches and 170 pounds.
• Michael Santana, 33, whose last known address was in the 400 block of Woodward Street, Reading, is wanted on simple assault and protection from abuse order violation charges.
Police stated that on July 14, Santana got into an argument with a female in the 200 block of Pear Street in Reading. Santana punched her in the head repeatedly, causing injuries. Santana ripped the victim’s necklace off and fled before police arrived.
He is described as 5 feet 8 inches and 150 pounds.
