West Reading splits final two games of basketball exchange trip to California

West Reading split the final two games of its basketball exchange trip to California on Sunday to finish with a 6-2 record.

Schuylkill Valley’s Mark Rajnath scored 16 points to lead West Reading to a 61-57 victory over Monte Vista in the bracket semifinal of the Franklin Tournament at Elk Grove, Calif.

In the bracket final, Pittsburg defeated West Reading 64-53, using an 11-0 run in the fourth quarter to pull away.

Berks Catholic’s Josiah Jordan led West Reading with 13 points.
