Wilson rolls past Penn Manor in high school football

Jadyn Jones made a big return to the Wilson football lineup Friday night by rushing for three touchdowns in a 40-6 Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 1 win over Penn Manor.

Jones scored on runs of 2, 1 and 68 yards after sitting out two games due to a PIAA suspension for being ejected in a loss to Exeter on Sept. 10.

T.J. Flite caught two TD passes from Brad Hoffman as the Bulldogs (1-0, 3-3) opened defense of their league title by routing the Comets (0-1, 4-2) at Millersville.

Jones rushed 11 times for 156 yards and Wilson took advantage of two Penn Manor turnovers. Cameron Jones, who the previous week wore his brother’s No. 4 jersey, set up one of Jadyn’s TD runs with a punt return and returned another punt 70 yards for a touchdown.

Hoffman completed 4-of-5 passes for 47 yards and two touchdowns. He helped Wilson open the scoring in the first quarter with an 18-yard touchdown pass to Flite.

Jadyn Jones scored on two short runs and Cameron Jones returned a punt for a TD to get Wilson out to a 26-0 halftime lead.

In the third quarter, Flite hauled in a 9-yard TD pass from Hoffman following a Gavin Lenart interception and Jadyn Jones raced 68 yards for a score.

Penn Manor scored in the closing minutes to avoid the shutout.
