Wyomissing company launching annual toy drive on Friday

A Wyomissing company is preparing to kick off a toy drive to benefit kids in need.

FXV Digital Design will begin its sixth annual Awesome Toy Drive on Friday. Donated toy will be distributed to Olivet Boys & Girls Club, Concern, Children’s Home of Reading and Mary’s Shelter.

More than 30 local businesses will host holiday trees adorned with special tags, each featuring a child’s specific gift request from one of the beneficiary organizations. Community members are encouraged to visit these locations, select a tag, and purchase the item listed, ensuring it is returned unwrapped to any tree location.

Since its inception, the Awesome Toy Drive has collected over 4,000 gifts for underprivileged local youth.

“I’ve been very blessed in my life, and the only way I know how to thank the universe for giving me so much is by giving even more back,” Freddy Vasquez, who founded the toy drive, said in a statement announcing its kickoff. “When it comes to children, I’m all in. My goal is to collect for thousands of children in the years to come and beyond my time here on Earth.”
