The Wyomissing Public Library has announced the start of a new benefit in its service area. Effective immediately, volunteers from the library, located at 9 Reading Blvd. in Wyomissing, will deliver and pick up library materials to people who reside in Wyomissing, Wyomissing Hills, and West Reading. If a person is unable to visit the library due to illness, disability, transportation issues, or caregiving responsibilities, that person would qualify for free home delivery and pickup. To be eligible, a person needs to have – or apply for – a Wyomissing Public Library card.

Items that may be requested for home delivery include fiction, non-fiction, and large print books, audiobooks, magazines, music CDs, and videos. Materials may be requested by phone or online at www.wyopublib.org and will be delivered on Tuesdays, weather permitting. Requests for materials need to be made no later than 5 p.m. on Mondays.

A person may request up to 10 items, including no more than five DVDs or CDs and five magazines. To request items, or to sign up for the service, call the library during its hours on Mondays through Fridays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

At this time, due to limited resources, the library is not able to offer home delivery beyond Wyomissing, Wyomissing Hills, and West Reading. The service is a natural extension of the delivery and pickup service it has offered to residents of The Highlands at Wyomissing over the past 15 months.

For more information, contact Program Coordinator Ann Sheehan at ann@wyopublib.org or call the library at 610-374-2385.
