Sidney Brown scored 15 points as the Albright men overcame a nine-point deficit to beat Lebanon Valley 70-61 in a MAC Commonwealth basketball game Saturday at Annville.
The Lions (2-3, 6-7) picked up their third win in the last four games by forcing the Dutchmen (2-4, 5-8) to commit 25 turnovers. Brown, Troy Smoot and Eric Chamberlain each had three of Albright’s 14 steals.
Smoot had 13 points and two blocked shots for the Lions, Chamberlain had 11 points and Isaiah Harris had 10.
Payton Lewis scored 25 points for Lebanon Valley, Collin Jones had 19 points and 11 rebounds and former Berks Catholic standout Luis Garcia had three points in 17 minutes.
Albright 52, Lebanon Valley 31: At Annville, Gabby Boggs set a school record with 27 rebounds as the Lions (3-2, 8-3) routed the Dutchmen (2-4, 7-8) in a MAC Commonwealth game.
Boggs also had 18 points, two blocked shots and two steals for Albright, which held Lebanon Valley to 12-of-54 shooting, or 22.2%. She leads the conference with 15.1 rebounds per game and is second with 16.1 points per game.
Former Berks Catholic standout Abby Gaffney had 17 points and 11 rebounds for the Lions, and Mackenzie Dover had eight points and eight rebounds in her college debut.
Kutztown 58, East Stroudsburg 40: At East Stroudsburg, Rylee Derr had 13 points and two steals as the first-place Golden Bears (5-1, 12-3) trounced the Warriors (0-7, 1-9) in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East game.
Zara Zerman had 10 points and two steals for Kutztown, which held East Stroudsburg to 14-of-47 shooting, or 29.8%. Alexis Smith had 10 points, Casey Remolde had 11 rebounds, three blocked shots and two steals and Abby Hearrn had four blocked shots.
