Berks Catholic grad Abby Gaffney scored 14 points Sunday for the Albright women’s basketball team in a 66-51 loss to Roanoke in the Jean Beamer Tip-Off Classic at Salem, Va.
The Lions (1-2) shot just 17-for-52 from the field, including 3-for-13 from 3-point range.
Gabby Boggs had 12 points and 15 rebounds and Brady Wassel had 12 points and eight rebounds for Albright.
On Saturday, Boggs had 19 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, three steals and three blocks in the Lions’ 61-48 loss to Shenandoah in the first round of the tournament.
Wassel had 10 points and Maggie O’Hare had nine points and six rebounds.
Boggs and Wassel were named to the all-tournament team.
Kutztown 77, Lincoln 74: Saturday at Oxford, Rylee Derr made six 3-pointers and scored 22 points as the Golden Bears (2-2) beat the host Lions (1-1) in the PSAC/CIAA Challenge.
Casey Remolde had 20 points for Kutztown, which overcame 27 turnovers by shooting 50% from the field.
NYU 82, Alvernia 58: Saturday at New York, Kayla Williams scored 20 points for the Golden Wolves (1-1) in their non-conference loss to the Violets (2-0).
Tamia Wessels scored 11 points for Alvernia and Taliyah Malone had 10.
Jenny Walker scored 19 points for NYU.
Albright 68, Vassar 60: Saturday at Poughkeepsie, N.Y., Jordan Guerrero had 17 points and seven rebounds to lead the Lions (2-1) past the Brewers (0-2) in the Vassar Tip-Off Tournament.
Sean Miller had 12 points, six rebounds, five assists and two steals for Albright. Troy Smoot had 11 points and five steals.
Immaculata 82, Alvernia 78: Saturday at Immaculata, Jakob Kelly had 25 points and four steals for the Golden Wolves (3-2) in their non-conference loss to the Mighty Macs (2-3).
Malik Green had 19 points and six rebounds for Alvernia, Keon Taylor had 10 points and five assists and Mickeel Allen had eight rebounds.
Asa Kitchen scored 23 to lead Immaculata.
