from Penn State Berks
The Berks LaunchBox, in partnership with Penn State Berks, will host its free 3D Modeling & Printing Workshop for Manufacturing Companies from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 12. The workshop is hands-on, beginner-focused, free, and open to the public, and attendees can register online or contact BK-InnovationHub@psu.edu.
Participants will use a variety of tools to learn how to 3D model and 3D print through firsthand experience. Utilizing the user-friendly software TinkerCAD, attendees will learn how to create, splice and print 3D models, gaining valuable insight on how these technologies are used in a real work environment.
During this workshop, attendees will also witness a demonstration of Fusion 360 and its advanced capabilities for complex 3D designs. Fusion 360 is a professional development software in the engineering field, currently used for machine design and 3D modeling primarily within the manufacturing sector. The software helps streamline prototyping, repair, and production processes. Participants will gain a better understanding of the benefits that 3D modeling and printing have in a manufacturing environment.
This event will take place at the Penn State Berks LaunchBox, located within GoggleWorks Center for the Arts, 201 Washington St., Reading.
