From Berks County Community Foundation
The Berks County Community Foundation will host a community forum on what’s happening in West Reading on Wednesday, Jan. 15, starting at noon, via Zoom.
Founded in 1810, West Reading has become known for its engaging and active walkable downtown. Restaurants, shops, and small businesses line the Penn Street Corridor. Street markets, arts festivals, and Second Fridays attract thousands of people.
This last year has been a time of transition for West Reading. In March 2023, the catastrophic explosion at the R. M. Palmer factory disrupted the downtown. Several restaurants announced that they were closing. New leadership came to Visit West Reading, the West Reading Main Street Program. Join us to learn from Nick Price, the new Main Street manager, about what’s happening in West Reading.
