Dogs will take over Jim Dietrich Park in Muhlenberg Township this weekend.
Mid-Atlantic Disc Dogs will host its annual disc-catching competition at the park. The event will feature multiple competitions over the course of two days with the winners earning a spot to compete at the 2023 Skyhoundz World Championship in Tennessee this fall.
The competition, which has been held at the park for the last 10 years, is free for spectators who want to cheer on the athletic canines. The events will start at 9 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Novice and veteran competitors alike are encouraged to enter the competition.
All competitors will receive an official standard flying disc, and awards will be given out for the top teams in beginner, intermediate and expert levels. Contestants and their canine teammate will earn points for basic throws and catches in a variety of events designed to test the skills of both.
