Down to two quarterbacks in OTAs, Ravens sign veteran Brett Hundley

The Ravens have signed veteran quarterback Brett Hundley, adding experience to a position that could be without Lamar Jackson during organized team activities.

Hundley, 28, spent the 2021 season as a reserve and practice squad player for the Indianapolis Colts. He last appeared in a game in 2019, when he went 5-for-11 for 45 yards and rushed seven times for 41 yards in three games with the Arizona Cardinals.

A fifth-round pick of the Packers in 2015, Hundley has played in 19 games overall, with nine starts for Green Bay. In a 23-0 loss to the Ravens in 2017, he went 21-for-36 for 239 yards and three interceptions.

With Jackson’s availability for OTAs unclear — “I’ll just let Lamar speak for himself on that,” coach John Harbaugh said Wednesday, after Jackson’s second straight absence from the voluntary workouts — the Ravens are down to just two quarterbacks. Tyler Huntley should be one of the NFL’s better backups this season, but undrafted rookie Anthony Brown has been inconsistent in the team’s open workouts.

The Ravens are scheduled to have 10 OTAs overall before a three-day mandatory minicamp begins June 14.

In a corresponding move, the Ravens released cornerback Kevin Toliver, who joined the practice squad in November and signed a reserve/future contract in January. He didn’t appear in any games last season.
