Downtown Reading’s second annual Taco Fest returns bigger and bolder on Saturday, May 3, from 12-6 p.m. This fun fiesta will take over the 600-700 block of Penn Street with a celebration of culture and community.
Enjoy an exciting lineup of live bands, cultural dance performances and dance lessons, a magic show, delicious eats from local businesses and food trucks, and unique finds from creative vendors.
Highlights include:
- Live bands performing throughout the day.
- Cultural dance performance and free dance lessons by Grupo Uaharni and dance performance by Reading Rebels Rebellettes.
- Family magic show by Joel Delgado.
- Food trucks, festive beverages, and local creatives, offering tacos, beer and adult spirits, and handmade goods.
- Nemesis Fitness’ Cinco de Mayo 5K.
- Family-friendly fun and vibrant community vibes, including free mechanical bull rides and ax throwing.
In true Cinco de Mayo fashion, Nemesis Fitness’ high-energy Cinco de Mayo 5K, a free, non-competitive community run open to all ages and fitness levels, will take off from Taco Fest and return to refuel and make memories at Taco Fest.
Nemesis Fitness always provides the perfect opportunity to have fitness fun while making memories and building community. The Cinco de Mayo 5K will do just that as runners have fun celebrating downtown Reading.
The fun run will take off at 4 p.m. from 6th and Penn streets, traveling down Penn Street, turning south onto 2nd Street and down Riverfront Drive to Canal Street, and then travel the same route to return to 5th and Penn streets and join the Downtown Reading Taco Fest Block Party.
Those wanting to sign up for Nemesis Fitness’s free Cinco De Mayo fun run can use the following link to sign up: Cinco De Mayo 5k. Those who registered can pick up their shirt, which is available on a first-come, first-served basis, starting at 3 p.m. on the day of the event.
The Inked Anatomy Art & Tattoo Festival is a three-day festival that will take place inside the Santander Arena from Friday, May 2, to Sunday, May 4. Inked Anatomy Art and Tattoo Fest will be outside of the arena as part of Taco Fest, encouraging you to see the incredible art that is taking place inside.
