Four Berks companies make Inc. 5000 list

Four Berks County companies were recently named to the annual Inc. 5000 list, a ranking of the fastest-growing private companies in America.

Local companies included:

  • Strunk Media Group, Kutztown, an advertising and marketing company, was ranked 3,186th with three-year growth of 116%.
  • Irish Creek Enterprises, Muhlenberg Township, a construction company, was ranked 3,626th with three-year growth of 93%.
  • Sheds Unlimited, Caernarvon Township, a construction company, was ranked 4,048th with three-year growth of 75%.
  • Triose, Spring Township, a logistics and transportation company, was ranked 4,564th with three-year growth of 57%.

“It’s an honor to be recognized on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing private companies for a ninth consecutive year,” said Triose Founder and CEO Carl Joyner, in a statement. “As we emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic, our growth is a direct reflection of our commitment to making a difference in healthcare. By helping health systems manage their supply chain operations and gain visibility over costs, we helped them focus on what matters most—returning time to patients.”

Like many businesses during the coronavirus pandemic, Triose was forced to innovate. Most recently, it developed a suite of services and technology solutions called Pharmacy iQ which helped hospitals compliantly deliver medications directly to patients’ homes so they could reduce the risk of contracting COVID-19 while waiting in line at the pharmacy. Additionally, CourierIQ, and Freight Management solutions have been proven to help eliminate inefficiencies at every level of hospital supply chain activity, from transportation routes to pharmacy shipping, to the language in hospitals’ contracts with their couriers.

“The healthcare industry will always be faced with challenges and Triose will continue to face them as it has in the past — by putting people first,” said Joyner. “Our emphasis on human values that extends from the way we manage our own employees to our relationships with our clients is a critical pillar of our success and as we continue to grow we will maintain that keystone philosophy.”

Sheds Unlimited, which has manufactured prefabricated sheds, single-car garages, multiple-car garages and other portable structures for more than 30 years in Morgantown, found “above average” demand for its buildings during the pandemic.

“At the beginning of COVID-19, we thought business would really slow down,” said Austin Beachy, the company’s marketing manager, in a statement. “We had nearly all of the office staff work from home and only a few separated workers in the shop.” After an initial slowdown, however, the trend reversed and the company began seeing above-average demand for their buildings.”

Beachy credited the company’s success with a long-term focus on streamlining operations.

“We constantly look at ways to make the company more efficient,” he said, “whether that involves streamlining the workflow in the shop, to how we interact with customers in the office…we work hard to re-invest resources back into the business, and into our employees, and the company benefits from this tremendously.”

Both Strunk Media and Irish Creek have made the Inc. 5000 in multiple years.

“We are so blessed and honored to have an amazing team of very talented people throughout the company that work hard day in and day out to make this possible,” Irish Creek said in a social media post.
