Free Eastern Woodland Dance Instruction with the Widoktadwen Center

Widoktadwen Center for Native Knowledge invites the public to attend its inaugural Autumn Equinox Gathering & Feast on Sunday, Sept. 21, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Zion Spies Lutheran Church, 310 Spies Church Road, Reading.

This free, family-friendly event celebrates North American Indigenous autumnal traditions while strengthening community relationships. Tours of Widoktadwen’s cultural resource center will also be available during this community event.

The event schedule is as follows:

  • 11 a.m.: Potluck feast (Please visit www.widoktadwen.org/events to access the potluck sign-up form.).
  • 12 p.m.: Eastern Woodland social dance instruction by Barry Lee of Spirit Wing Arts & Music, generously sponsored by the Reading Musical Foundation.
  • 1-3 p.m.: Monthly beading circle, featuring a kid-friendly pony bead crafting option for ages 7-11, in addition to some beading materials for adults. Open to beginners or experienced crafters. Bring your works-in-progress.
