Giants tackle Matt Peart out for season with torn ACL

Giants second-year tackle Matt Peart tore the ACL in his left knee on Sunday in Philadelphia.

He is done for the season, and the injury could impact his third NFL season, as well.

Peart started in place of Nate Solder, who is on the COVID list. He was engaged with the Eagles’ Cameron Malveaux when his left knee gave out in the first quarter.

Korey Cunningham replaced him for the rest of the game.

Peart, 24, limped out of the building postgame without crutches, but that was obviously not an indication of good news to come.

Meanwhile, safety Julian Love was placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list Monday, and so was practice squad DB Ka’dar Hollman.

The team cut center Evan Boehm from the practice squad, too.

Captain Saquon Barkley also skirted the media for a second straight day.

He didn’t talk after Sunday’s pathetic loss to the Eagles. Devontae Booker was the only non-quarterback to speak on behalf of the offense.

Then on Monday, tight end Evan Engram represented the offense on a Zoom audio call.
