I am delighted to share with our community that Healthgrades, the most reputable source of information on physicians and healthcare institutions, has named Reading Hospital as one of America’s 50 Best Hospitals for the third consecutive year.
This designation puts Reading Hospital among the top 1% of hospitals nationwide for overall clinical performance. I would like to extend my sincerest thanks to our skilled and commendable healthcare professionals without whom this recognition would not be possible.
It is due to their unwavering commitment to the health and well-being of our patients that we can provide our community with the highest levels of clinical care.
To determine the Top 50 Best Hospitals in the United States, Healthgrades evaluated more than 4,500 hospitals across the country in search of those with the best patient outcomes.
Healthgrades also recognized Reading Hospital for additional achievements, including America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Stroke Care Award, the Joint Replacement Excellence Award, the Neurosciences Excellence Award and the Stroke Care Excellence Award.
I like to say Reading Hospital functions like a small city. We have many moving parts and departments that rely on and support one another. Without all of those teams, our hospital would not be able to provide the nationally recognized level of care it does today.
Reading Hospital has more than 7,000 team members, each with their own role that is essential to providing exceptional patient care. From our physicians, nurses and first responders to our nutrition and environmental services teams, and our many other departments and support staff, we are all working together toward one common goal: to provide healing.
Each day, I see our employees go the extra mile to ensure our patients and their families are receiving the care they need. Our employees help prevent and cure disease, bring life into the world, make sure patient spaces are safe and sterile, respond to health emergencies and so much more.
It is truly a privilege to lead a dedicated team that I have been part of for my 28-year career at Reading Hospital.
