The Berks County Parks & Recreation Department continues to present programs promoting nature, history, and outdoor activity throughout the month of July 2024.

Summer Concert Series | Friday, July 5 | Swing That Cat! | 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Gring’s Mill

Food trucks: Lio Colon’s Food Bus and Next Level Pizza. | Free | Open to the public.

Tuesday, July 9 to Thursday, July 11 | Art in the Park | 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bingaman House

Get crafty, explore our green spaces, and head out onto the trails of Antietam Lake Park as we discover just what makes our parks so cool! Geared towards children 7-12. | $40 per child | Registration required.

Thursday, July 11 | Creek Peek: Birds | 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Heritage Center

Take a peek at the ecology of a creek! | Free | Registration required.

Friday, July 12 | Summer Evening Starwatch | 9 p.m. at Angora Fruit Farm

Join us and members of the Berks County Astronomical Society for an evening gazing at the stars, moon, nebulae, and galaxies through their powerful telescopes. | Free | Registration suggested.

Wednesday, July 17 | Drop-In Art Camp: Color Me Crazy! | 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Bingaman House

Adventurers ages 7-12 get ready to explore the colors of the wild! | $10 per child | Registration required.

Summer Concert Series | Friday, July 19 | Know Return | 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Gring’s Mill

Food trucks: Wichway Sandwiches and Greco’s of Lititz. | Free | Open to the public.

Saturday, July 20 | A Brush with History: Opening Day | 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Heritage Center

The Heritage Center’s first art show featuring local artists will celebrate its opening day in the site’s stone farmhouse. Show runs until the last weekend of October. | Free | Open to the public.

Sunday, July 21 | The Organic Artist | 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Heritage Center

Bring the kids out for a DIY experience, making your own eco-friendly paints from the things you find all around you! | $5 per child | Registration required.

Wednesday, July 24 | Sunset Paddle | 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Church Rd Access, Blue Marsh

Saturday, July 27| Family Fishing Day | 6 p.m. at Antietam Lake Park

Join Parks staff and rangers as we enjoy an evening of fishing fun! | Free | Registration required.

Sunday, July 28 | Pennsylvania Wildlife w/ Red Creek | 6 p.m. at Gring’s Mill Barn

Red Creek Wildlife Center will offer a presentation on some of Pennsylvania’s native wild animals, featuring live animal ambassadors! | Free | Registration required.
