Kutztown University runs to win over Lock Haven in college football

Darryl Davis-McNeil ran for a career-high 148 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries to help Kutztown University defeat Lock Haven 32-15 in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East game Saturday at Lock Haven.

The Golden Bears (5-0, 7-1), ranked 25th in the country in the AFCA Division II coaches’ poll and in the D2football.com rankings, ran for 241 yards and three TDs. They finished with 423 total yards.

KU took a 6-0 lead on its opening possession on a 2-yard TD run by Davis-McNeil.

Lock Haven (0-5, 1-7), which lost its 13th straight to the Golden Bears, went up 7-6 early in the second quarter on a 2-yard pass from Ethan Persa to Isia Gonzalez.

Kutztown took the lead for good at 12-7 when Eric Nickel threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Kurtis Ravenel Jr. with 3:56 left in the first half.

The Golden Bears added another score before the end of the half as Nickel ran in from 1 yard to cap an eight-play, 76-yard drive with 1:06 left to make it 19-7.

KU went up 25-7 in the third quarter on a 44-yard pass from Nickel to Jake Novak.

Zaire Jones scored in the fourth quarter on a 10-yard run for the Golden Bears.

Nickel finished 14-of-20 for 182 yards, with two TDs and an interception.

Novak had three catches for 69 yards.

Lycoming 28, Albright 7: At Williamsport, Elijah Shemory ran for two touchdowns and passed for two others as Lycoming rallied to beat Albright in a Middle Atlantic Conference game.

The Lions (1-5, 2-6) took a 7-0- lead in the second quarter on Todd Shelley’s 17-yard pass to Lucas Roselli with 9:38 left in the half.

The Warriors (4-1, 5-2) then scored 28 unanswered points in the second half. Shemory scored on a 10-yard run and tossed a 31-yard touchdown pass to Aaron Wolcott in the third quarter.

Shemory scored on a 3-yard run in the fourth quarter and later completed a 10-yard touchdown pass to Wolcott.

Shelley completed 16-of-30 passes for 167 yards and one touchdown with one interception for Albright. Isaiah Shockley rushed for 87 yards on 21 carries for the Lions.
