On Sunday, April 6, LCBC Church officially launched its newest campus building in Sinking Spring. Located at 168 Shillington Road, Sinking Spring, in the former Colonial Hills Fitness Center, LCBC has filled a gap in a part of Pennsylvania looking for a campus. Two services are held at 9 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. every Sunday.
LCBC Sinking Spring first opened in November 2023 at the Wilson West Middle School. Wilson West hosted the church while they looked for a permanent building. Because it was a temporary meeting place, each week, LCBC Sinking Spring would set up everything from the music and sound booth in the auditorium to the welcome area at the front entrance of the building. This required a large team of extra volunteers to not only set up everything but also to take it down after the services. After some searching, LCBC found a space in the former Colonial Hills Fitness Center and began work on remodeling in early 2024. The development of the building led to its completion in March 2025, with a soft opening on Sunday, March 30.
Campus pastor Rob Johnsen was very prepared and excited for the launch, emailing the volunteers and members of the church. “This is going to be incredible!” Johnsen said. “You don’t want to miss any of it! And even more importantly … you don’t want the people in your life to miss it! April 6th is our OPENING DAY!!! Bring everyone!”
The soft opening was the first Sunday in the new building, meant to help the volunteers and staff work out all the kinks in the new building. Though it was not announced publicly, the members of the church listened to Johnsen and invited a lot of other people. The overwhelming number of attendees required volunteers to add more chairs to the auditorium. With the extreme attendance numbers, the staff made sure to fully prepare for the official launch on Sunday, April 6.
Pastor Rob Johnsen sent another email to prepare the church members for the official launch. “Guys … I have no idea what to expect! And I’m totally fine with that,” he said. “I’m just giving it to Jesus and asking him to do even more than I can imagine. And if that means that there are people standing around the edges of the auditorium and we’re parking on the grass … then so be it. We’ll have a grand old time pulling you out of the mud after the gatherings! I’ll bring my tow rope.”

Having experienced the soft launch, the team of volunteers and staff felt fully prepared for the official launch on Sunday, April 6, going off without a hitch. The new building allows the team of volunteers and staff to be able to focus less on preparing the building and more on the people. Kid ministry volunteers, Eliza Windsor and Emily Eldredge, expressed their excitement with the new building, no longer having to set up and tear down their playrooms for the children.
Though the launch of LCBC Sinking Spring’s new campus is now over, the work is not finished. The team is very happy to be settled in the new building, held their first Easter Sunday service, and is looking forward to many more.
