Leonard Pitts’ May 30 column (“Who will be the last to die to protect an insane policy”) enhances understanding of the authoritarian governmental control goal of former President Donald Trump’s Republican Party. My grandfather taught me all about “snake in the grass” actions of the likes of Trump, Republican gubernatorial nominee Doug Mastriano and other insurrectionists. Watch for the oft repeated hidden strategies slipped into boisterous posits. Brazen as they may sound, they form the bulwark of the intended campaign.
Promises of religious enhancement for a post-2024 Christian nationalist, authoritarian United States ignores everyone’s right to espouse a religion, or none at all. Constitutional protections deny someone’s religiosity from controlling another person without exception.
Fall for the degradation of our constitutional republic and embrace of the powerful mega wealthy and you will no longer see the United States’ future determined by elections.
The only logical choice is to learn about the Democratic Party. The Democrats support the common man, the little guys and those still subjected to the demeaning inequalities first set in motion in 1619. No one in these United States is “better” than any other. Those who believe otherwise need to do a lot of soul-searching.
