Letter: Christmas commercialism arrives much too early

I can’t believe I started seeing Christmas decorations and commercials in late October and early November. It’s bad enough that commercialism and greed are ruining our country, now it seems to be taking the sparkle out of Christmas.

After seeing Christmas decorations and commercials for two months prior to the big day it takes away some of the excitement and spirit of the holiday. It also puts a damper on the Thanksgiving celebration, that is sad because Thanksgiving is about family, friends and food. No presents to buy and no disappointments; just togetherness.

When will we realize what we are losing to the almighty dollar.
