I am so pleased with some of the recent strides made by the Moran administration and City Council in their effort to make our city’s downtown area cleaner, safer and more visually appealing.
The changes made at Fourth and Penn streets — including eliminating a structure that promoted loitering, litter and crime — are a welcome effort and a needed optic for attracting the business community and consumers wanting to shop downtown Reading.
I implore city officials to boldly expand this procedure/policy in order to achieve the same result on the 800 block of Penn Street. This area, being larger, can only have an even larger positive impact on our city.
