Letter: Come to Topton Museum and celebrate a great town

Editor:

This has been a year of challenges for all of us. Our newspapers and TV screens keep us informed about the many problems facing our country. At times it’s difficult to read or watch them without getting upset. However, just as we need to deal with our personal problems, we need to deal with larger problems and hope with God’s guidance to deal with them as well.

I’ve dealt with health problems, and as a conservative Republican I have my opinions on other matters as well.

I do find that my best times are when I gather with family and friends or find enjoyment at the Topton Museum.
The museum is a place where I can count my blessings and know how lucky I’ve been. Lucky to have a wonderful family, life in a great town, worship when possible in a beloved church building, be educated in a school system with teachers who cared about each other and students, serve as an elected official for 32 years and hopefully come to rest in a cemetery full of loving memories.

Please come to the Topton Museum on Sept. 10 between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. to celebrate the history of a great town. Topton has a history full of places and heroes who have made it so great.
