Letter: Decision on immunity case is sign of depraved court

Editor:

After showing its conservative bias by disregarding 50 years of legal precedent in its decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, the U.S. Supreme Court has now reached full depravity in its decision to hear former President Donald Trump’s immunity case.

Legal experts across the country states that Trump’s case has no merit. Nobody is above the law, not even the president of the United States. That’s Basic Constitution 101. Yet, the Supreme Court, in its infinite stupidity and corruption, has decided to play into the ex-president’s delay tactics and prevent prosecutor Jack Smith from proceeding immediately with his case against Trump the insurrectionist.

The appeals court made a clear and decisive denial of Trump’s ridiculous argument that presidents have absolute immunity against criminal prosecution.

There is no reason for the Supreme Court to waste its time on such a frivolous case — except to aid and abet the twice-impeached, four-times indicted Trump, who was found by a jury to have committed sexual abuse.

This Supreme Court is an embarrassment to the rule of law and a national disgrace. The American people deserve better.
