Letter: Illegal immigrants treated better than Americans

Editor:

If we were to fully discuss the logic of our current open-border policy, We would find it difficult to avoid the political rhetoric from the reality facing those seeking to enforce the current federal law and executive orders. Political misinformation is a strategy, and it is working.

So allow me to add to this illogical argument by encouraging the homeless and mentally ill living on our streets, those living in severe poverty and those without hope, to renounce their American citizenship, move to El Salvador or Guatemala, then migrate back to the U.S. through our open borders to receive free medical and dental evaluations, suitable lodging, fresh food and humanitarian support from our government.

If it is acceptable to provide such benefits for those entering the U.S. illegally, why is it not acceptable for those who have served their country, those who have endured severe hardships and those unable to fully help themselves?
There are many useful, beneficial, and helpful government programs, but why are so many left unattended and without hope? Immigration reform legislation and commonsense discussions are needed.
