Letter: Neighbors have concerns about plan on mountain

Editor:

I live near Stokesay Castle, and my neighbors and I are very concerned about the plan to build condominiums nearby. Restaurant owner Jack Gulati wants to build 13 four-story buildings that include two- and three-bedroom apartments.
The traffic has increased on Hill Road over the years. The speed limit is 25 mph, but many cars go much faster, and I don’t see any police enforcement to address this.

If the condos were built, traffic would increase severely along with highway pollution that would cause health issues for neighbors, pollution in our homes and loud road noise.

This is just outrageous. Would nearby property decrease in value along Hill Road and surrounding streets? With 328 units, this project would lead to hundreds more cars on nearby roads. Our roads would turn into major highways. Lower Alsace Township needs to reject this plan to protect its residents and people in Reading who also would be affected. This is not acceptable.
