Letter: Nurse with health issues shouldn’t work in an ICU

Editor:

I’m writing in response to “She was a giver” (Reading Eagle, Sept. 26). Deanna Reber should not have been working in the intensive care unit with COVID-19 patients. She had a weakened immune system and other health issues. She should not have been in a situation that clearly made her extremely vulnerable to contracting not only COVID but possibly other life-threatening illnesses.

This situation is tragic and could have been prevented. This has absolutely nothing to do with choosing to vaccinate or not. Sadly, not only did Reading Hospital lose a dedicated employee but more importantly a family lost a loved one.
