National Night Out Postponed Due to Weather

from City of Reading

Due to inclement weather, the Reading Police Department and the City of Reading have rescheduled the National Night Out (NNO) to Wednesday, Aug. 14, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event will take place in the 400 and 500 blocks of Penn St.

The event is free and open to the public. Parking for the event is free at the 4th and Cherry garage, thanks to the Reading Parking Authority. NNO will include a variety of fun activities, including demonstrations by the Reading Police Department’s canine and traffic enforcement units; a display of law enforcement and safety vehicles, including police vehicles and fire trucks; and community resource tables providing city residents with information about programs and services dedicated to helping their families. Additionally, the Reading Recreation Commission, Reading Area Water Authority, and Reading Fire Department will provide a special edition of the popular “Wacky Water Wednesday.” Finally, there will be guest appearances by the Reading Fightin Phils “Screwball.” The Reading NNO event is being supported and attended by over 65 community organizations and local businesses who are coming together to help us #makeReadinglookgood.
