New Hamburg High School principal hopes to make a positive impact

New Hamburg Area High School Principal Ryan McGinley hopes to make a positive impact.

McGinley moved positions from the middle school to the Hamburg Area High School on July 1.

When he had the opportunity, he knew he was willing to take the challenge and responsibility to be the new high school principal. He says high school is a different challenge than middle school so it was a great change. He also is familiar with students from middle school and elementary.

McGinley likes to be a principal because he gets to interact with everyone and be able to have the dedication to be a part of everyone’s education and learning. He helps make it a positive experience and impact for everyone to learn in an appropriate learning environment.

Previously, McGinley taught at the elementary school in Hamburg for 15 years, then moved to the middle school and taught one year of 6th grade science before moving into the role as middle school administrator. He also has taught in the elementary and middle school in the Hamburg area.

A few of McGinley’s biggest goals are to be able to make a positive impact on staff and students and to be able to make our school increase with academic growth and to continue to make the Hamburg Area High School a great and enjoyable place for students to be in.

McGinley’s hobbies are running and playing golf. Some of the things he enjoys doing out of his job of being the principal are coaching his son and daughter, spending as much time with his family as possible, and relaxing.
