Carpenter Technology

Carpenter Technology Corp.’s Board of Directors elected I. Martin Inglis to succeed Gregory Pratt as Chairman of Carpenter Technology’s Board of Directors, effective immediately. As planned, Pratt has retired as the Chairman of the Board of Directors, a role Pratt has held since 2009. Pratt also served as interim President and CEO of the Company in 2010 and 2015 and has been a member of the Company’s Board of Directors since 2002.

Inglis has been a member of Carpenter Technology’s Board of Directors since 2003 and has held the role of Chair of the Audit/Finance Committee of the Board of Directors. Inglis’ experience includes serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Battelle, a research and development enterprise headquartered in Columbus, Ohio where he retired in 2014. Prior to joining Battelle,Inglis retired as Group Vice President, Business Strategy for Ford Motor Company, where he also held various other executive leadership roles including Chief Financial Officer.

The Company’s Board of Directors also appointed Charles “Chuck” McLane, former Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Alcoa Inc., and member of the Company’s Board of Directors since October 2020, to the role of Chair of the Audit/Finance Committee of the Board of Directors.

Mid Penn Bank

Zachary Miller has been promoted to first senior vice president and chief risk officer.

Zach MillerIn his new appointment, Miller will report to Rory Ritrievi, president and CEO of the bank, and will be responsible for enterprise risk management throughout the organization. He will oversee the compliance, BSA/AML, internal audit and loan review functions and will manage external audit relationships.

Miller, who most recently served as director of BSA/AML/OFAC, has been with Mid Penn Bank since 2015. In that time, he focused on the redevelopment and enhancement of the BSA framework, created and facilitated AML training and governance programs, and streamlined monitoring methodologies that efficiently identify and mitigate risk. Prior to joining Mid Penn Bank, Miller was assistant vice president & AML/BSA Operations manager with Metro Bank.

Miller earned a bachelor’s degree from York College of Pennsylvania. He is a frequent professional speaker on compliance and BSA topics for ACAMS, is a Review Board member for CAMS-FCI Advanced Certification and is a Lead member of the Central PA AML Peer Group.

Greater Reading Chamber Alliance

Denise Vaquero has been hired as the new executive assistant to Jim Gerlach, president & CEO.

In addition to her administrative duties, Vaquero will provide overall support to various departments at GRCA.

Most recently, Vaquero served as an HR benefits administrator and executive assistant at Glen Gery Brick,  Wyomissing, where she assisted in employee hiring and onboarding as well as supplied administrative support to  the company’s executive team.

Shanon Sabanos

Vaquero replaces Shanon Sabanos as Sabanos transitions to the newly created Community Initiatives Team coordinator. In her role, Sabanos will work on the implementation of the Economic Development Strategic Plan. She also will assume responsibility for loan portfolio administration and will head the Engage! Business Outreach efforts.
