Penn State football team’s report card vs. Bowling Green

Quarterbacks

B:. Drew Allar played a solid game except for taking a 23-yard sack and throwing a red zone interception.

Running backs

A: Nick Singleton and Kaytron Allen both topped 100 yards and combined for 220 rushing yards. Singleton also caught a TD pass.

Receivers

B: Tyler Warren had the best game by any tight end in program history, and Omari Evans nearly had two TD catches but also dropped a pass.

Offensive linemen

B: They opened holes on the ground but struggled in pass protection, allowing two sacks and several pressures.

Defensive linemen

C: They couldn’t sack Connor Bazelak and couldn’t pressure him until the second half. They also had two offside penalties.

Linebackers

C: Missed too many tackles, but Tony Rojas came up with a huge interception and Kobe King recovered the game-clinching onside kick.

Defensive backs

C: Jaylen Reed had another superb game and had 10 tackles. Zakee Wheatley intercepted a pass and was beaten for a TD.

Special teams

A: Kicker Sander Sahaydak received praise from James Franklin for making two field goals, and punter Riley Thompson had a terrific game.

Coaches

C: Made nice halftime adjustments to slow Bowling Green’s offense in the second half. The Lions need to be more disciplined after they committed seven penalties, increasing their season total to 15.
